A key role within the Engineering Department to manage projects, liaise with toolmakers, customers and other engineers to ensure that work is delivered in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner.
Using your engineering skill to create new and improve current manufacturing processes using data-based analyses to help improve quality, cost and delivery.
Duties & Key Responsibilities
- Develop new product processes.
- Create and manage timing plans and support required for assigned projects
- Support the creation of process flows and PFMEA’s and review at stages through the NPI process.
- To set up standard operating procedures and manage process documentation e.g. S.O.P’s updates.
- Create & modify SAP bill of materials.
- Support 8D investigations.
- Carry out process feasibility reviews with customers to assist commercial.
- Deliver continuous improvement projects across site.
- Set and run tool trials at ADM, supporting tool trials at toolmakers.
- Set and run assembly trials.
- Liaise with toolmakers and customers and report back to ADM.
- To design and oversee the manufacture of jigs and fixtures using multiple CAD software products e.g. Solid works, Autocad, Sigma nest.
- Support 8D investigations.
- Manufacture of prototype parts.
- To create roller hemming programmes.
- Create 5 axis and 2 axis laser programmes.
- Support customer concession requests
- Engineering change control creation.
- Develop key working relationships with customer contacts.
Qualifications
- Experience within an automotive engineering setting i.e. manufacturing methods, processes
- HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a completed apprenticeship in a related sector i.e. toolmaker – metal pressing
- Knowledge of excel, word and power point for the creation of timing plans, presentations, S.O.P’s
- Desirable – knowledge of how to use solid works, sigma nest, autocad for fixture design or drawing analysis
- Desirable – knowledge of Trutops software
- Desirable – knowledge of robotic programming
- Full UK Drivers Licence
