Job summary
Exeter-based Manufacturer is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support new product development, improve manufacturing processes and drive continuous improvement across the site.
The role requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering, strong DFM knowledge, and experience with sheet metal fabrication; you will lead DFMEA reviews and collaborate with NPD to transition designs into production.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- FMEA training or experience desirable.
- Strong understanding of DFM and manufacturing principles.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specs.
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, assembly and tolerancing.
Responsibilities
- Provide manufacturing and assembly expertise through the product lifecycle.
- Drive DFM and assembly improvements.
- Lead R&D projects focused on cost reduction and quality.
- Deliver continuous improvements across products and processes.
- Collaborate with NPD engineers on practical manufacturing solutions.
- Perform tolerance assessments on components and assemblies.
- Lead and support DFMEA reviews and risk assessments.
- Identify and mitigate manufacturing risks before production.
- Support smooth transition of new products from design to manufacture.
