DeterTech is seeking a Junior Network & IT Support Technician to join our IT team. This role is ideal for someone starting their IT career with an interest in networking, infrastructure and cybersecurity.

You will help support and maintain the organisation's network and IT infrastructure while developing your technical knowledge alongside experienced team members. A security-minded approach is essential and you will learn how and why systems work.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day support and maintenance of network infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues across wired and wireless networks.
• Investigate network faults, performance issues and unusual behaviour.
• Support switches, wireless access points, firewalls and other network equipment under guidance.
• Assist with VLANs, IP addressing, DHCP, DNS and other core networking services.
• Identify devices on the network and investigate unknown or unexpected devices.
• Support network cabling, patching, ports and physical equipment.
• Monitor network availability, performance and security.
• Escalate issues when appropriate and document fixes clearly.
