Job summary

CBW Staffing Solutions is seeking a Junior Maintenance Engineer to join a busy building services team in the City of London. You will support planned and reactive maintenance across electrical, mechanical, and plumbing tasks and work closely with a senior engineer to gain hands-on experience.

The role offers a starting salary up to £40,000, regular hours, overtime opportunities, and access to additional training and career progression within a reputable FM service provider.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Level 3 electrical qualification or City & Guilds Level 2 mechanical qualification
• Must be able to provide copies of trade certificates
• Proven track record in commercial building maintenance

Responsibilities

• Lighting, fault-finding and lamping tasks, including emergency lighting tests
• Fire alarm tests and general maintenance of life safety systems
• Plant room maintenance and servicing of equipment
• Air Handling Units and FCUs maintenance including filter changes and cleaning
• Control panels and electrical components (ballasts, wiring)
• BMS system monitoring and fault investigation
• Carrying out M&E and fabric maintenance on site
• Maintaining and updating log books
• Plumbing tasks including unblocking toilets
• Pumps and motors maintenance

An exciting opportunity to join an established building services company based in London has arisen! CBW Staffing Solutions are currently recruiting a Junior Maintenance Engineer either of an electrical, mechanical, or plumbing background, to be based in a commercial building in the City of London. He or she or they will be required to carry out planned and reactive building maintenance alongside the maintenance team on site. This person will be working closely with a senior member of the team and the team on-site to gain experience and training of building services.

The successful candidate will understand Facilities Maintenance and have some experience in building maintenance. In return, the company is offering a competitive salary of up to £40,000, overtime, plenty of further training and a potential route into further career progression.

Hours of work

• Monday to Friday – 08:00 am to 17:00 pm
• 25 days holiday + Bank holidays

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Lighting (Small installation, Fault-finding, Lamping, etc)
• Emergency lighting tests & Fire alarm tests
• Plant room maintenance
• Air Handling Units / Fan Coil Unit (Filter changes, cleaning)
• Control Panels
• Changing Ballast
• BMS System - Monitor (i.e. Hot & cold)
• Carry out all aspects of M&E/Fabric maintenance
• Maintain and update Log books
• Plumbing - Unblocking toilets
• Pumps, motors

Requirements

• Electrically qualified - City & Guilds Level 3 or mechanically City & Guilds Level 2
• Must be able to provide copies of your trade certificates
• A proven track record in commercial building maintenance
