Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd is seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer to join their Birmingham building services team. You will support design and delivery of electrical building services across healthcare, commercial, education, and residential sectors, working with experienced engineers.

This role offers hybrid working in Birmingham, on a growing team, opportunities to develop technical skills, participate in design deliveries from concept to completion, and progress towards professional

Qualifications

Previous professional experience in electrical engineering or building services is required.
Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
Some experience designing or assisting with electrical building services systems.
Knowledge of software such as AutoCAD, Amtech, Dialux or similar.
Revit competency is desirable.
An understanding of relevant building regulations and industry standards.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A willingness to learn and develop technically.
An interest in progressing towards professional accreditation.

Responsibilities

Supporting the design of electrical building services systems including power, lighting and small power.
Assisting with electrical design calculations and technical reports.
Supporting the preparation of specifications and tender documentation.
Coordinating designs with mechanical, sustainability and BIM teams.
Attending design team meetings, client meetings and site visits.
Supporting projects through the different RIBA stages.
Contributing to energy-efficient and low-carbon design solutions.
Working across sectors including healthcare, commercial, education and residential.
