Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is looking for a Junior Mechanical Engineer in Birmingham to support the delivery of mechanical building services designs across a range of projects. The role offers exposure from concept through to detailed design and construction.

You will work with experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams, with opportunities to develop skills in sustainable and low-carbon design while benefiting from hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Previous professional experience in mechanical engineering or building services is required.
• Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Support the design of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and domestic water systems.
• Assist with mechanical design calculations and technical assessments.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, reports and other technical documentation.
• Support senior engineers with project delivery.
• Coordinate with electrical, BIM and sustainability teams.
• Attend client, design team and site meetings.
• Contribute to projects across healthcare, commercial, residential, education and public sectors.
• Develop knowledge of sustainable and low-carbon building design.
