Job summary

Aldwych Consulting in Birmingham is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to contribute to electrical building services designs across healthcare, commercial, education and residential sectors. The role involves design delivery from concept to completion, collaborating with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams in a growing Birmingham office.

Qualifications

• A degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Experience designing electrical building services systems.
• Knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech or Dialux.
• Understanding of current building regulations and industry standards.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Desire to work towards professional accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Producing electrical building services designs including power, lighting, small power and associated systems.
• Undertaking design calculations and preparing technical reports.
• Assisting with the preparation of specifications and tender documentation.
• Coordinating designs with mechanical, sustainability and BIM teams.
• Attending design team meetings, client meetings and site visits.
• Supporting projects through all RIBA stages.
• Contributing to energy-efficient and low-carbon design solutions.
• Working across a variety of sectors including healthcare, commercial, education and residential.
