Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd is recruiting a Junior Electrical Engineer in Birmingham to support electrical building services projects across healthcare, commercial, education and residential sectors. You will work with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams from concept through to completion, developing your technical skills and taking on increasing responsibility.

Ideal candidates will have prior industry experience in electrical engineering or building services, a relevant degree, and

Qualifications

• Previous professional experience in electrical engineering or building services is required.
• Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Some experience designing or assisting with electrical building services systems.
• Knowledge of software such as AutoCAD, Amtech, Dialux or similar.
• Revit competency is desirable.
• Understanding of building regulations and industry standards.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop technically.
• Interest in progressing towards professional accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and delivery of electrical building services projects across sectors.
• Work with experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams from concept to completion.
• Gain exposure to projects and take on increasing responsibility.
• Assist with electrical design calculations and technical reports.
• Prepare specifications and tender documentation.
• Coordinate designs with mechanical, sustainability and BIM teams.
• Attend design team and client meetings and site visits.
• Support projects through RIBA stages and contribute to low-carbon design.
