Job summary

The National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty is seeking a Commercial Team Leader to supervise the day-to-day operations of a property commercial team within food & beverage and retail.

This permanent role is based in a rural area with 1600 hours per year; salary £13.25 per hour, paid in 12 equal instalments. Working days are typically 5 per week, 8:00–16:00 or 9:30–18:30, including weekends and bank holidays.

We're looking for a Commercial Team Leader to join us. You'll be supervising the day-to-day operations of a property commercial team within food & beverage and retail.

Salary: £13.25 per hour

Contract Duration: Permanent

Working Pattern: You'll work 1600 hours per year. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. You will work 5 days per week, 8am-4pm or 9:30am-6:30pm, including weekends and Bank Holidays.

What you'll be doing

As a Team Leader, you'll support and motivate your team to deliver great service in our busy café and shop, so you'll be adaptable and ready to get involved wherever needed.

With a focus on front-of-house, you'll create a warm welcome for every visitor and lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service. Using your eye for detail, you'll ensure displays and signage are accurate and up to date, while occasionally supporting back-of-house activities.

You'll help monitor stock levels, promote products and contribute to income targets that support the National Trust's conservation work. You'll also play an important role in welcoming, training and developing colleagues, helping to build a confident team.

We'll provide an induction, along with training in food safety and allergens. There are also opportunities to take part in further learning and development if you'd like to grow your skills.
