Job summary

Lanes Group, Stockton-on-Tees, is seeking a JetVac Assistant to join a two-person team at the Stockton depot. You will attend drainage issues, operate jetting equipment, and keep customers informed about planned works.

Hours are 40 per week, Monday to Friday; salary £13-£14 per hour depending on experience. The company offers 21 days holiday, pension, and death in service.

Qualifications

• Experience in drainage or water industry is a plus.
• Willingness to learn RAMS documentation and safe work practices.
• Ability to operate jetting machinery and assess drainage issues.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery.
• Ensure all H&S requirements are followed.
• Communicate with customers about scheduled works and concerns.
• Identify drainage issues including blockages and root ingress.
• Operate high-pressure jetting equipment to clear drains and sewers.
• Remove waste materials from sites.
• Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance.
• Support CCTV inspections of underground pipes.
• Assist in emergency response situations.
• Learn to complete RAMS under supervision.

About the Role:

We are looking to appoint a JetVac Assistant to join our Stockton-on-Tees Depot. Working as part of a two person teams, you will be responsible for attending drainage related issues such as blockages, pipe clearing, cleansing and reactive call outs.

• Location: Stockton-on-Tees
• Hours: Monday to Friday – 40 hours per week
• Salary: £13 - £14 per hour dependant on experience

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery
• Ensure all H&S requirements are followed
• Communicate with customers about scheduled works and address any concerns.
• Assist in identifying drainage issues, including blockages, structural defects, infiltration, and root ingress.
• Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear drains, sewers, and pipework.
• Remove waste materials and prevent build-up in wastewater systems.
• Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance to ensure readiness.
• Support CCTV inspections to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.
• Assist in emergency response situations, including flooding and urgent drainage issues.
• Learn to complete job sheets, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS) under supervision.
