Job summary

Role Description

The IVA Advisor role at MK Recruitment is a full-time, on-site position based in Bolton. The advisor will support individuals considering or entering Individual Voluntary Arrangements, guiding them through the process and explaining options in a clear, empathetic manner. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing clients’ financial situations, gathering and verifying documentation, answering queries by phone and email, and maintaining accurate records in internal systems. The advisor will liaise with insolvency practitioners and creditors, ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company procedures, and follow up with clients to provide ongoing support. The role also involves meeting performance and quality targets, contributing to a positive team environment, and participating in training to stay up to date on IVA and debt solutions.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and explain IVA and debt solutions, with strong analytical skills for reviewing financial information and client documentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including clear telephone manner, active listening, and the ability to build trust with clients in challenging situations.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping and data entry.
• Customer service experience, preferably in financial services, insolvency, or a related advisory role, with a focus on empathy and professionalism.
• Comfort with computer systems and CRM or case management software, plus proficiency in standard office applications (e.g., email, word processing, spreadsheets).
• Knowledge of or interest in UK personal finance, debt solutions, and regulatory requirements (training may be provided for candidates with strong potential).
• Ability to work effectively in an on-site team environment in Bolton, meet targets, and adapt to changing workloads and priorities.
• Beneficial: prior IVA or debt advisory experience, relevant certifications or training in financial services or insolvency, and a background in call center or client-facing roles.
