Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated IT Technician to support several schools in the West Sussex area. You will provide 1st and 2nd line desktop and device support, and assist with classroom AV setups, software, and networking issues.

Working across multiple sites, you will manage Active Directory, Windows OS, and Office 365 integrations while maintaining asset records and adhering to safeguarding and DBS requirements.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record in 1st and 2nd line technical support.
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Windows OS, Office 365, and TCP/IP/DNS.
  • Excellent customer service and ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
  • Analytical, problem-solving mindset with strong organisational skills.
  • Teamwork and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • Appropriate qualifications and training for the role.
  • A valid DBS check, or willingness to undertake one.
  • Safeguarding checks may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality 1st and 2nd line technical support for desktop PCs, laptops, mobile devices, and software.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware and Windows operating systems.
  • Set up and troubleshoot audio-visual equipment in classrooms and meeting rooms.
  • Perform basic system administration tasks such as Active Directory account management and password resets.
  • Assist with network troubleshooting, including Wi-Fi connectivity and patching.
  • Maintain accurate records of IT assets, software licensing, and equipment inventory.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, including manual handling of equipment.
  • Work across several schools and travel between sites as required.

Requirements
