Job summary

The Vale Federation of School in Aylesbury is seeking an IT Technician to support the school’s IT services. The role is full-time (37 hours per week) and permanent, with a salary of £29,114 - £31,230 per annum.

Reporting to the IT and Finance Manager, you will troubleshoot hardware and software, manage devices, and assist staff and students with technology in teaching and learning activities. DBS checks and pre-employment checks apply.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot the school's IT infrastructure.
  • Support computers, printers and network systems and assist staff and students.
  • Install updates, manage user accounts and permissions, and help with cybersecurity.
  • Set up classroom tech like interactive whiteboards and projectors.

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 52 weeks per year

About us

At Booker Park School we look for all our young people to be successful learners enabling them to achieve in a caring and supportive environment. The school is a member of the Vale Federation of Special Schools, together with the secondary school Stocklake Park, and its post-16 site Harding House.

Reporting directly to the IT and Finance Manager, the candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the school's technology infrastructure. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues, ensuring the functionality of computers, printers, and network systems, and providing technical support to staff and students. They may also be tasked with installing and updating software, managing user accounts and permissions, overseeing cybersecurity measures, and ensuring that all technology systems run smoothly to support teaching and learning activities. Additionally, they may assist in setting up and maintaining classroom tech tools like interactive whiteboards and projectors.
