Job summary

VOCOSA LTD in Reading is seeking an Apprentice IT Technician to provide high-quality user support and helpdesk services. You will work across on-site and cloud environments, assisting with hardware deployments and network maintenance to support schools and private sectors.

The role offers hands-on training, progression opportunities, and a clear pathway to a full-time position after completion of the apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above.
• Strong IT hardware knowledge and OS familiarity (Windows/Mac).
• Experience with IT onboarding, O365, Google Cloud for Education and policy tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality end-user support via helpdesk tickets.
• Prioritise and respond to tickets promptly.
• Test and troubleshoot end-user devices (PCs, laptops, tablets, Chromebooks, phones, printers).
• Install, upgrade and remove hardware across sites weekly.
• Maintain physical and cloud storage.
• Ensure systems are well administered.
• Develop and improve existing infrastructure and processes.
• Assist in site cabling installations (including fibre, data).
• Add devices to networks across sites.
• Monitor DNS, firewall and network services daily.
• Assist in setting up new systems as schools move to the cloud.
