Lift Schools is seeking an IT Technician to support our growing network of South West schools. Based primarily at Lift Marling in Stroud, you will assist five current hub schools and help onboard four new schools from January onwards.

You will work with IT colleagues and partners to keep systems running smoothly, resolve issues quickly, and build trusted relationships with teachers and staff. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are required.

Qualifikationen

• Level 3 qualifications (A levels or equivalent).
• Experience supporting and deploying applications and operating systems.
• Skills in diagnosing and repairing hardware and software issues.
• Strong communication skills; able to explain technical info clearly.
• Curiosity and a problem‑solving approach; quick learner.
• Excellent organisation; stays calm under pressure.

Aufgaben

• Resolve technical faults with Windows, Apple and Chrome devices; ensure service levels are met.
• Support systems including printing, telephony, door access, classroom management and CCTV.
• Maintain and install audio-visual systems across school sites.
• Monitor and support broadband connectivity, SSO, backups and firewalls.
• Support onboarding of four new schools joining the hub.
• Keep records in the service management system and manage assets.
• Provide excellent customer service and update colleagues on progress.

About the role

Lift Schools is looking for an IT technician to support our growing network of schools in the South West. Based primarily at Lift Marling in Stroud (Gloucestershire), you will support five current hub schools: Lift Marling, Lift Cam Woodfield Junior, Lift Berkeley, Lift Callowell, and Lift Hillview.

This is an exciting time to join us. The region is growing rapidly, and you will play a key role in supporting the onboarding of four new schools from January onwards.

This is a chance to ensure every school has the technology they need to help children learn, thrive and achieve. Working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities, you will collaborate closely with IT colleagues and third-party partners. As a true team player, you'll help keep systems running smoothly, resolve issues quickly, and build trusted relationships with teachers and staff across your hub.

Key responsibilities

• resolve technical faults with Windows, Apple and Chrome devices, ensuring service levels are met;
• support key systems including printing, telephony, door access, classroom management and CCTV;
• maintain and install audio-visual systems across school sites;
• monitor and support systems such as broadband connectivity, single sign-on, backups and firewalls;
• support the successful technical onboarding of four new schools joining the hub;
• keep accurate records in the servicemanagement system and ensure asset management is up to date; and
• provide excellent customer service, keeping colleagues updated on progress and responding to requests with care.

What we're looking for

• level 3 qualifications (A levels or equivalent);
• background in supporting and deploying applications and operating systems;
• skills in diagnosing and repairing hardware and software issues;
• strong communication skills and the ability to share technical information in a user-friendly way;
• curiosity and a problem-solving approach, with the ability to learn quickly; and
• excellent organisation skills and the ability to stay calm and professional under pressure.

We'd also welcome relevant industry training such as CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, ITIL Foundation or Google Certifications. An understanding of how schools operate and the daily IT challenges they face, or a background in education technology, would be ideal but is not essential.

Because regular travel between our hub schools is a core part of this role, you must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle. Ideally, you will live within a 30-minute drive of Lift Marling in Stroud, which will serve as your base. Mileage for travel between schools during the working day will be reimbursed.
