  • Role: IT Technician
  • Hours: Full-time, 35 per week
  • Location: Lake House, Port Solent
  • Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 depending on experience

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate IT Technician to join our expanding IT team, reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer. As IT Technician you will be responsible for on-site technical support to colleagues and teams across the firm and its various sites.

You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of end-user technology, delivering high-quality support that enables the firm’s legal services and operations to function effectively. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide first and second-line support for hardware, software, mobile devices, and networking issues.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot PC’s, laptops, printers, phones, and peripheral devices.
  • Log, diagnose, and resolve incidents and service requests promptly. Provide regular updates to users on ticket status and resolution timelines.
  • Escalate complex issues appropriately while maintaining ownership of the user experience.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot desktop operating system and productivity software issues
  • Perform equipment build, installations, moves and changes as required, and maintain the end user equipment Asset register with the resulting changes.
  • Enforce firm security policies and educate users on safe computing practices.
  • Assist in identifying and reporting potential security incidents.
  • Support efficient technology usage and resource management to control costs.
  • Document fixes and contribute to the firm’s knowledge base.

What We’re Looking For?

Our ideal candidate will be someone with a passion for IT. This is a hands-on role that requires excellent technical troubleshooting skills, a strong service ethic, and the ability to collaborate with users and the wider IT team.

Whilst character is important to us, we do require a certain level of experience to succeed in this role. These are:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in a customer-facing IT support role.
  • Certifications such as MCP and A+ are preferred.
