Job summary

South Lee Prep School and Nursery in Bury St Edmunds is seeking a friendly IT Technician to join our inclusive team. You will provide daily technical support for staff and pupils, manage the Microsoft 365 environment, and administer Jamf School MDM for iPads.

This part-time role (10 hours per week) offers a flexible schedule in a supportive education setting, with opportunities to develop IT skills and contribute to innovative teaching and learning.

Qualifications

  • Provide daily technical support for staff and pupils.
  • Manage and maintain the school's Microsoft 365 environment, including Teams.
  • Support and administer Jamf School MDM for 1:1 and shared iPads.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
  • Ensure devices are secure, updated, and ready for classroom use.
  • Assist with onboarding new staff and students to school systems.
  • Liaise with external IT providers when required.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to support non-technical users.
  • Appreciation of the demands of working in a busy school setting.
  • Be organised, reliable, and able to work independently.
  • Previous school experience is not essential.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a motivated and dedicated IT Technician to join our Prep School team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving and wants to build their career in IT, while working in a supportive and friendly school environment.
