Job summary

Major IT supports a growing FMCG & Food Manufacturing client in East Kilbride, Scotland. The role focuses on onsite IT support, troubleshooting L1/L2 issues, and maintaining hardware across desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and VOIP systems.

You will work with internal teams and the IT manager at Burton to ensure SLA targets are met, while expanding exposure to core networking (Cisco, DNS/DHCP) and industry certifications through ongoing training.

Qualifications

• IT technical support background with troubleshooting experience (L1/L2)
• Working knowledge of O365, Windows 10, and Windows Server 2016/2019
• Exposure to firewall security concepts and related tools
• Experience collaborating with internal teams and IT manager
• Familiarity with Jira for service desk ticketing and SLA adherence
• Networking exposure including CISCO devices and DNS/DHCP

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite IT support for desktop, laptop, printers, scanners and telephony systems.
• Troubleshoot user issues and escalate where needed, aiming for SLA adherence.
• Support core network systems including routers, switches, WiFi and VOIP.
• Collaborate with IT managers and internal teams across sites.
• Maintain hardware and software assets and document incidents in Jira.

Job description

Major IT have partnered with a global player in the FMCG and Food Manufacturing business.

As a business, my client operates across 8 national UK sites covering international food production and supply chain management into 17 countries worldwide.

This is a new opportunity to bring inhouse a fully functional IT specialist team to support my clients site in East Kilbride (Scotland).

The ideal person will come from a similar IT technical support vertical, ideally with a strong commercial awareness of troubleshooting level 1 and 2 enquiries, with working knowledge of internal systems including O365, Windows 10 including servers 2016/19 and firewall security exposure.

You will have a proven ability to problem solve and work effectively with the internals teams including close collaboration with the IT manager based at my clients Burton office.

This is an opportunity to gain wider experience working with core network systems including routers, switches, WiFi backups and VOIP systems.

Additional to this, you will provide hardware support the technical estate from desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, touchscreens and internal telephone systems.

My client operates a JIRA system to manage the service desk tickets and to ensure requests are responded to within agreed SLA's.

It would also be great to hear from anyone that has core networking exposure including CISCO and DNS / DHCP knowledge.

**Due to the role and location, you will need access to a car and will be required to be operational onsite 5 days per week which may include some additional overtime.**
