Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an IT Support Officer to join our team. You will install, maintain and support desktop hardware and software across multi-site locations, including Office 365 and peripheral devices.

You will manage user accounts in Active Directory, provide first line IT helpdesk support, and assist with IT projects, security measures, and DBS checks.

Qualifications

• Level 2 English and Maths qualification (GCSE or equivalent).
• IT literacy to Level 3 or higher.
• Experience with desktop PC hardware is essential.
• DBS checks required and compliant before commencement.

Responsibilities

• Install, replace, support and maintain group desktop hardware and software including PCs, printers, phones and mobile devices.
• Maintain user accounts and access in Active Directory.
• Provide first line IT support to the group via Helpdesk and ticketing system.
• Assist in IT projects and security measures to prevent misuse of systems.
• Liaise with external agencies to resolve IT issues and implement recommendations.
• Travel to other sites to provide IT assistance as required.
• Support curriculum and staff in the provision of IT services.

Job description

Duties

• To receive direction as and when required from the Customer Services Lead and IT Services Manager
• To carry out the installation, replacement, support and maintenance of Group desktop hardware and software, to include (and not limited to) PCs, printers, telephones, and mobile devices, Office/365 suite, and specialist software applications etc
• To maintain user accounts including access rights, permissions, and groups within Active Directory
• To provide first line support to the Group IT community for all IT facilities/services under the advice and guidance of Line Management
• To help maintain security measures to minimise or eliminate potential abuse of Group IT systems
• To diagnose and repair IT equipment
• To liaise with relevant external agencies to resolve IT issues and implement recommendations
• To support and assist other IT Support Officers as and when required
• To prepare, deliver and install IT equipment
• To assist curriculum and support staff in the efficient provision of IT
• To assist in the implementation of IT projects as required where skills and experience are required
• To respond to and complete IT support requests using the College's IT Helpdesk and ticketing system
• To keep up to date with developments in IT
• To travel to other sites to provide IT assistance as required.

Candidate Requirements

Candidates must hold a level 2 qualification in English and Maths (GCSE or equivalent) and be IT literate to Level 3. Experience with desktop PC hardware is essential.

Candidates must be fully compliance checked prior to commencement including references and enhanced DBS. EWC is not required for this cover
