Job summary

Beck Greener LLP is seeking an IT apprentice to be the face of the IT department and deliver first-line support to staff and partners. You will gain hands-on experience while earning and pursuing a recognised IT qualification.

Responsibilities include handling helpdesk requests, logging tickets, diagnosing issues, installing hardware and software, and supporting IT systems. Working hours are 37.5 per week with ongoing training and development.

Qualifications

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ in any subject.
  • GCSE Maths and English at grades 3+.
  • Must not hold a higher or equal qualification in a similar subject.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line IT support, responding to helpdesk requests remotely or on-site.
  • Log, track, and update tickets through resolution.
  • Diagnose issues and escalate to senior technicians when needed.
  • Assist with installation, configuration, maintenance and upgrades of hardware.
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot software and operating systems.
  • Support IT system maintenance and monitoring.
  • Produce technical documentation and reports.
  • Follow IT security procedures and industry standards.
  • Participate in apprenticeship training and development activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a professional environment.

At Beck Greener LLP, we are looking for an IT apprentice to be the face of the IT department. They will need to be confident to be able to approach all members of staff\partners to deliver a customer focused approach to IT. As such they will need good customer service skills as they deliver first line support to the business.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide first-line IT support, responding to helpdesk requests and resolving hardware and software issues both remotely and on-site
  • Log, track, and update support tickets, ensuring incidents are accurately recorded and managed through to resolution
  • Diagnose technical issues and escalate complex problems to senior technicians when required
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrade of computer hardware and peripheral devices
  • Install, configure, update, and troubleshoot software applications and operating systems
  • Support the maintenance and monitoring of IT systems, networks, and related infrastructure
  • Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation, records, and reports
  • Follow IT security procedures, best practices, and industry standards in all tasks undertaken
  • Participate in apprenticeship training and development activities to build technical knowledge, skills, and experience
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, maintaining a professional, organised, and positive working environment

Entry requirements

The entry requirements for this programme are as follows:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject

Working hours:37.5 hours per week
