Job summary

Quality Start in Swindon is seeking an IT Support specialist (Level 1/2) to join our on-site team. You will provide general network, telecoms and server support, install and maintain IT equipment and software, and assist with procurement while coordinating with local IT vendors.

On-call duties apply, with a 12-month contract that may extend or become permanent. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Computer Science or related field, with solid knowledge of Office and networking, and preferably

Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science or related discipline; equivalent work experience considered.
MCP or MCSE certification is desirable.
Solid understanding of personal computing applications (Office, email, etc.).
Excellent working knowledge of networks and server infrastructure.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

General network, telecoms and server support and problem solving.
Analysing system requirements and business processes to assist design and implementation of IT solutions.
Installing, configuring, and maintaining IT equipment and software to ensure operational efficiency.
Replacing and rebuilding hardware components as needed.
Performing IT Procurement in accordance with corporate guidelines.
Coordinating with local IT support vendors for services such as Network cable installation, Copier Support, and eWaste collection.
On call 24x7 for emergencies and support for special projects.
