Job summary

Quality Start in Swindon is seeking an IT Support Level 1/2 to join the on-site team. You will handle end user issues, diagnose network, hardware, and software problems, and contribute to incident resolution.

The role includes proactive maintenance, IT procurement, and coordination with vendors, with on-call support for emergencies and special projects. Site hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm or 8:00 am to 4:30 pm or 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
• Solid understanding of networks and server infrastructure.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

IT Support Level 1 and Level 2 – Swindon

Opportunity:

Are you currently working in IT support? Does your experience include dealing directly with technical End User support, resolving hardware, software and network issues? If yes then please read on.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• General network, telecoms and server support and problem solving.


• Analysing system requirements and business processes to assist in the design and implementation of IT solutions.


• Installing, configuring, and maintaining IT equipment and software to ensure operational efficiency.


• Replacing and rebuilding hardware components as needed.


• Performing IT Procurement in accordance with corporate guidelines.


• Coordinating with local IT support vendors for services such as Network cable installation, Copier Support, and eWaste collection.


• On call 24x7 for emergencies and support for special projects.

This is a 12 months contract which will be reviewed for a possible extension or go permanent however this is all dependent on the candidate and business performance. The PAYE rate is between £15.38 - £17.43 per hour.

This is a site based role working Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm or 8:00 am to 4:30 pm or 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Skills:

• Degree in Computer Science or related discipline. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.


• Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification is desirable.


• Solid understanding of personal computing applications (Office, email, etc.).


• Excellent working knowledge of networks and server infrastructure.


• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
