Job Overview:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and proactive IT Support Engineer to provide technical support to over 200 end users across 10 sites. You will ensure the seamless operation of IT systems, hardware, and software, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving issues across various devices and systems. Your role will include supporting a diverse user base, assisting in system upgrades, hardware installations, and network maintenance to maintain business continuity. The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, possess strong problem-solving skills, and work well in a team environment.

Length of contract: Permanent

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide first-level technical support via telephone, email, Teams, and in-person.
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
  3. Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software.
  4. Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks and maintain documentation.
  5. Create and update records of support activities.
  6. Escalate unresolved issues to higher support levels or third-party vendors.
  7. Provide end-user training as needed.
  8. Ensure equipment is maintained and secure.
  9. Stay updated on technology and software trends.
  10. Maintain a positive, enthusiastic, flexible attitude and promote effective teamwork.
  11. Follow best practices and ensure policy compliance.
  12. Maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  13. Perform routine system maintenance, including updates, patches, and backups.
  14. Monitor system performance and preemptively address potential issues.
  15. Assist with system and network upgrades to enhance performance and security.
  16. Troubleshoot network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and Wi-Fi.
  17. Ensure compliance with IT security policies, including password updates, antivirus, and firewalls.
  18. Support VPN and remote access issues.
  19. Lead and manage IT projects from inception to completion.
  20. Coordinate with teams to deliver IT solutions.
  21. Develop project plans and ensure timely delivery.
  22. Document issues, solutions, and configurations.
  23. Perform additional duties as assigned by the IT Manager or Lead Engineer.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in IT or technical support.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Keen interest in scripting and automation.
