Job summary

St Monica Trust offers a 15-month fixed-term IT apprenticeship at 35 hours per week, with a salary of £20,475 per annum. You’ll earn while you learn, gaining a Level 3 IT qualification and hands-on experience within a professional IT team that supports vital services across the Trust.

You’ll develop skills across user support, device setup, helpdesk tickets, cybersecurity basics, and Microsoft 365/Windows technologies, with dedicated guidance from the apprenticeship lead and IT colleagues.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in IT and problem solving.
• Good communication skills with ability to explain technical info clearly.
• Willingness to learn and grow in IT across services.
• Organised approach with attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Windows devices.
• Ability to follow processes and maintain records.
• Team player with initiative.
• GCSE English and Maths at 4/C or above or willingness to achieve Functional Skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing first-line technical support to colleagues.
• Assisting with setup, configuration and maintenance of computers, devices, software and printers.
• Supporting IT helpdesk by logging, updating and resolving tickets.
• Learning to diagnose and troubleshoot routine technical issues.
• Supporting user account administration and system access requests.
• Maintaining accurate IT records and asset information.
• Following cyber security and data protection requirements.
• Developing knowledge of Microsoft 365 and workplace technologies.
• Applying learning from apprenticeship in real work environment.
• Collaborating with IT team to deliver customer service.
