Job summary

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Manchester seeks a Service Transition Manager to oversee design and transition activities from idea to live delivery. You will shape governance, work with stakeholders, and ensure service definitions, contracts and staffing align with project goals.

You will drive continuous improvement, manage supplier relationships and deliver end-to-end service transitions within time and budget constraints, ensuring smooth handovers to live service teams.

Qualifications

• Forward thinking and detailed and passionate Service Management professional
• Process improvement skills
• Experience of Customer Insight practices e.g. Voice of the Customer
• Experience in developing insight from data sources including other teams’ data
• Experience of assimilating evidence into effective output
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and influencing skills
• Major Incident Management experience
• Experience in holding supplier/service reviews with external vendors
• Strong ITIL Experience (Foundation level minimum) and Service Management understanding

Responsibilities

• Help shape the process and governance around the Service Design and Transition framework.
• Contribute to the Service Design & Transition continuous improvement plan and track delivery.
• Work with Stakeholders to collate and validate IT Service requirements to deliver business outcomes.
• Produce Service Design Packages defining service, support, contracts and staffing.
• Collaborate with Architects, Product Owners, Service and Engineers on required changes.
• Deliver Service Transition activities following best practice methods and governance.
• Interface with 3rd party suppliers on agreement, planning and quality of deliverables.
• Produce detailed Service Transition plans to manage risks, issues and dependencies.
• Adhere to escalation processes to resolve resource and project delays.
• Ensure milestones and invoices align with project deliverables.
• Map Service Design to operating model and identify gaps or changes needed.
• Ensure service transitions meet time, budget and quality targets.
• Monitor projects, address issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Produce documentation and support models for project delivery.
• Review outcomes to drive cost/quality/customer-satisfaction improvements.
• Own end-to-end delivery of Service Design and Transition activities.
• Manage warranty and early-life support for live services.
