Job summary

BCIS is seeking an IT Operations Manager to lead and develop the internal IT function in a hybrid Coventry environment. You will own day‑to‑day IT across the business, coaching the IT Operations Engineer and partnering with senior engineers to modernise infrastructure and move to the cloud.

You’ll drive security governance, system hardening and compliant IT processes, while maintaining hands‑on support when needed. A proactive leader who communicates well will thrive here.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading IT operations with hands‑on capability.
• Experience coaching or line managing others is a plus.
• Hands‑on Active Directory administration.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems.
• Understanding of networking basics (IP, DNS, VPNs).
• Experience with patching, ticketing and compliance processes.
• Experience coordinating IT projects or major upgrades.
• Exposure to cyber security governance and remediation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the internal IT function.
• Balance day‑to‑day support with projects and improvements.
• Escalation point for complex IT issues.
• Support 1st/2nd line across Windows and Mac.
• Oversee onboarding/offboarding, hardware and access.
• Ensure tickets and queries are resolved promptly.
• Plan and deliver IT projects and upgrades.
• Migrate infrastructure to cloud with senior engineers.
• Own cyber security governance and testing.
