Job summary

SCG is seeking an IT Infrastructure Technician to join the Technical Services team. You will support and maintain the college's IT infrastructure across all campuses, ensuring security, reliability, and performance of network, server, storage and Microsoft 365 environments.

Reporting to the IT Systems Manager, you will contribute to technical projects and service improvements while providing second-line support to the IT Helpdesk.

Qualifications

• Experience providing second-line IT support across multiple campuses.
• Good understanding of network, server, storage and cloud services.
• Ability to manage security, backups and business continuity.

Responsibilities

• Maintain server, storage and virtualisation infrastructure.
• Support wired and wireless networks, including switches and VLANs.
• Manage backup, recovery and business continuity systems.
• Maintain cybersecurity solutions, including firewalls and endpoint protection.
• Administer Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365.
• Support software deployment, patch management and web filtering.
• Provide technical support to IT colleagues.
• Maintain technical documentation and contribute to service improvements

Salary: £36,564 p.a. Full-time (37 hours per week). Full year. Permanent. Based at London Road Campus but supporting all 3 campuses.

We are seeking an IT Infrastructure Technician to join our Technical Services team, supporting and maintaining the college’s IT infrastructure across all campuses.

Reporting to the IT Systems Manager, you will provide second-line support to the IT Helpdesk and help ensure the security, reliability and performance of our network, server, storage and Microsoft 365 environments.

Working with a range of technologies, including virtualisation, networking, Active Directory, backup and recovery systems, cybersecurity solutions and Microsoft 365, you will also contribute to technical projects, service improvements and the ongoing development of a secure and resilient IT service.
