Job summary

Volvo Group is seeking an IT infrastructure support professional to diagnose faults, install hardware, manage assets, and minimise downtime across our 11 Truck & Bus Centre locations and regional offices.

You will support projects, liaise with suppliers and colleagues, and stay updated on security and IT best practices while travelling frequently within the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience in IT support within complex or multinational organisations.
• Strong knowledge of IT environments, networked services and Microsoft Windows.
• Experience supporting infrastructure or business projects.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with people at all levels.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel frequently.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve IT faults, minimising downtime and disruption.
• Install, maintain and support IT hardware across locations.
• Manage IT assets, including inventory, lifecycle management, equipment labelling and disposal.
• Carry out routine maintenance, including system updates and antivirus activities.
• Work with suppliers on repairs, replacements, upgrades and new implementations.
• Support infrastructure projects, security assessments and group-wide change.
• Advise and coach colleagues on IT systems and solutions.
• Keep up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Salary: up to £37,000 & annual company bonus up to 5%
Location: Glasgow Cardonald, with hybrid working

Travel: Regular travel across Scotland and the North of England, with occasional wider UK travel

This is a varied, hands-on opportunity where you will troubleshoot technical issues, support infrastructure and hardware, while contributing to technology projects.

You will deliver and support IT infrastructure services across our 11 Truck & Bus Centre locations and regional offices, managing the technical administration of local and group IT systems. You will also install and support IT hardware, manage change and fault events, and work to minimise downtime while keeping clear and effective communication with the business.

You are an experienced IT professional with strong technical knowledge and a practical approach to problem solving. You are confident working independently, communicating with different teams and providing a high level of service.

You will bring:

• Experience working in IT, ideally within a complex or multinational organisation
• Strong knowledge of IT environments, networked services and Microsoft Windows
• Experience supporting hardware, mobile devices and Microsoft Office
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with excellent attention to detail
• Experience supporting infrastructure or business projects
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with people at all levels
• A curious, adaptable and team focused approach, with the ability to learn, solve problems and work collaboratively with others
• A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel frequently

You will support the IT infrastructure across our dealerships, depots and offices, helping to resolve issues quickly and keep our systems secure and reliable. You will also support projects, suppliers and colleagues to improve how technology is used across the business.
