Job summary

Volvo Group is seeking skilled technicians in Broxburn, UK to perform MOT inspections, repairs, diagnostics and service work on a range of trucks. You will join a team focused on safety, quality, and customer service.

The role involves road testing (if licensed) and assisting with roadside breakdowns, with opportunities to mentor trainees and progress within a global leader in transport solutions.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• Previous experience working on HGVs or completion of an HGV apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Carry out regular MOT service inspections on trucks and diagnose faults.
• Perform repairs to high standards following Volvo procedures.
• Assist in fault diagnosis process.
• Service customer vehicles and complete service sheets.
• Road test vehicles when licensed for HGV work.
• Assist with roadside breakdowns.
• Process all paperwork accurately for each job.
• Report any vehicle defects promptly.
• Keep workshop facilities, equipment and tools clean and well maintained.
• Support trainees and apprentices in their development.

Salary:Competitive+ OVERTIME + BONUS + PLUS £1000 SIGNING ON BONUS (£500 after 6 months + £500 after completion of 1 year service)

Shift Pattern:

Friday 6am – 1.30pm

Friday 1pm -8.30pm

Saturday Shift is on a Rota 7am – Noon**1 shift every 4 weeks ***

You will have:

• A Level 3 NVQor equivalent inHeavy Vehicle Maintenance
• Previous experience working on HGV’s or have you completed anapprenticeshipin the HGV industry

What you'll do:

• Our Technicians are responsible carrying out regular MOT service inspections on a wide range of manufacturers’ trucks. Fault finding, carrying out repairs on engines, gearboxes brakes, suspension systems etc.
• Carry out repairs to a high standard according to Volvo procedures, safely and responsibly
• Assist in the fault diagnosis process
• Service Customer Vehicles and complete service sheets.
• Road test vehicles when required (if you hold an HGV license)
• Assist with roadside breakdowns.
• Process all relevant paperwork relating to jobs accurately
• Ensure all vehicle defects are reported
• Keep all workshop facilities, equipment, and tools clean, tidy and well maintained
• Help us in supporting the development of trainees and apprentices
