Job description

As the IT Infrastructure Manager, you are responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the company's IT infrastructure and systems, including but not limited to Windows Servers, Active Directory, Entra, Networks, and Firewalls.

You will support the infrastructure architecture by providing technical expertise, applying design principles and methodologies to ensure cost-effective and optimal use of resources and technology. You will evaluate and design solutions to meet business and customer requirements and help develop the strategic direction.

You will ensure that our infrastructure is implemented securely, following guidance from NIST, NCSC, CIS, etc., and that all systems are maintained, supported, and compliant with security certifications. Experience in a similar environment with circa 1000+ users is required.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement a strategic plan for IT infrastructure that aligns with business needs and strategy.
2. Identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve business processes and performance.
3. Provide 3rd line support for infrastructure-related issues, managing internal and external resources for quick resolution.
4. Support the provision of business-specific solutions, ensuring adherence to standards for service and compliance.
5. Manage infrastructure availability and support, including servers, operating systems, messaging (Microsoft Exchange, Exchange Online), telephony, networking, antivirus (Sophos), backups (Arcserve), databases (SQL), printing, file storage, web filtering (Forcepoint), service monitoring (PTRG), Office 365, Microsoft Entra, and cloud migrations.

Experience Needed

• Minimum 5 years' experience in similar roles.
• Experience in an SME environment with circa 1000+ users.
• Working knowledge of ITIL frameworks or qualifications.
• Industry-relevant certifications such as MCSE.
• Outstanding problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with ISO27001:2022 standards.
• Experience with Windows Server cloud migrations.
