IT Infrastructure Manager

Salary: Up to £60,000 + Car Allowance

Your new role

As the IT Infrastructure Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the company's IT infrastructure and systems, including but not limited to Windows Servers, Active Directory, Entra, Networks, and Firewalls.

You will support the infrastructure architecture by providing technical expertise, applying design principles and methodologies to ensure cost-effective and optimal use of resources and technology. You will evaluate and design solutions to meet business and customer requirements and help develop the strategic direction. Ensuring infrastructure security in accordance with NIST, NCSC, CIS guidelines, maintaining compliance with security certifications, and supporting systems in a similar environment of circa 1000+ users are key responsibilities.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement a strategic plan for IT infrastructure aligned with business needs.
2. Identify opportunities to leverage technology for process and performance improvements.
3. Provide 3rd line support for infrastructure issues, managing internal and external resources for prompt resolution.
4. Support business-specific solutions and ensure adherence to standards for service and compliance.
5. Maintain infrastructure availability and support, including:

• Servers and operating systems
• Messaging services like Microsoft Exchange and Exchange Online
• Telephony and unified communications
• Networking (LAN, WAN, WLAN, Firewalls)
• Anti-Virus (e.g., Sophos)
• Backups (e.g., Arcserve)
• Databases (SQL)
• File storage and directory management
• Web filtering (e.g., Forcepoint)
• Service monitoring (e.g., PTRG)
• Office 365 and Microsoft Entra
• Cloud migrations

Experience needed

• Minimum 5 years' experience in similar roles.
• Experience working in an SME environment with circa 1000+ users.
• ITIL qualifications or equivalent experience.
• Industry certifications such as MCSE.
• Outstanding problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with ISO27001:2022 standards.
• Experience with Windows server cloud migrations.
