Job summary

Gardiner & Theobald is recruiting an IT Infrastructure Engineer to join its IT Infrastructure & Security team in the UK. The role covers endpoint management, Microsoft 365, identity, networking and infrastructure support across on‑prem and cloud environments.

You will be the primary escalation point for the Service Desk, handling patching, Azure Virtual Desktop, VPN and firewall tasks, and contributing to runbooks and documentation with a security‑conscious mindset.

Qualifications

• Experience in infrastructure engineering at 2nd/3rd line level.
• Strong M365/Intune/Entra ID administration skills.
• Solid networking knowledge with VPN and firewall experience.
• Experience supporting Windows server and on-prem/cloud infrastructure.
• Structured troubleshooting approach and security awareness.

Responsibilities

• Administer Microsoft 365, Intune and Entra ID incl. Teams and telephony.
• Manage patching and software deployment across endpoints.
• Support Azure Virtual Desktop and network infrastructure.
• Assist with switching, wireless, firewall infra and VPNs.
• Collaborate with Service Desk on escalated incidents and root-cause analysis.
• Maintain runbooks and technical documentation.
