Job summary

Gardiner and Theobald LLP is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to join the IT Infrastructure and Security team. This hands-on generalist role covers endpoint management, Microsoft 365, identity, networking and infrastructure support.

You will administer core infrastructure platforms and act as the first escalation point for the Service Desk. The role is based in our London office with 1 day a week working from home after the probation period.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in an infrastructure engineering or advanced 2nd/3rd line role.
• Strong Microsoft 365, Intune and Entra ID administration experience.
• Strong networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs and VPNs, with the ability to troubleshoot complex connectivity issues.
• Experience with enterprise switching and firewall platforms.
• Practical PowerShell scripting experience.
• A structured troubleshooting approach and the ability to see issues through to resolution.
• A security-conscious approach to infrastructure administration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administering Microsoft 365, Intune and Entra ID, including Microsoft Teams and telephony.
• Managing patching and software deployment.
• Supporting Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Supporting network switching, wireless and firewall infrastructure.
• Diagnosing and resolving connectivity, performance and VPN issues.
• Carrying out routine network and firewall changes.
• Working closely with the Service Desk on escalated incidents, providing technical support and knowledge transfer.
• Triaging infrastructure alerts and incidents.
• Supporting Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Maintaining technical documentation and operational runbooks.
