Job summary

Gardiner & Theobald LLP in London is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to join the IT Infrastructure & Security team. This hands-on role covers endpoint management, Microsoft 365, identity, networking and infrastructure support, administering core platforms and acting as a first escalation point for the Service Desk.

You will manage patching, software deployment, Azure Virtual Desktop, network infrastructure and firewall changes, working closely with the Service Desk to resolve issues and

Qualifications

• Proven infrastructure engineering or advanced 2nd/3rd line experience.
• Strong Microsoft 365, Intune and Entra ID administration experience.
• Strong networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs and VPNs; able to troubleshoot complex connectivity issues.
• Experience with enterprise switching and firewall platforms.
• Experience supporting Windows desktop and server environments across on-premises and cloud-hosted infrastructure.
• PowerShell scripting experience.
• Structured troubleshooting approach and ability to see issues through to resolution.
• Security-conscious approach to infrastructure administration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Desirable: Cisco CCNA and/or Fortinet NSE4/FCP certification.
• Desirable: VMware vSphere.
• Desirable: Experience with enterprise security tooling and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Administering Microsoft 365, Intune and Entra ID, including Microsoft Teams and telephony.
• Managing patching and software deployment.
• Supporting Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Supporting network switching, wireless and firewall infrastructure.
• Diagnosing and resolving connectivity, performance and VPN issues.
• Carrying out routine network and firewall changes.
• Working closely with the Service Desk on escalated incidents, providing technical support and knowledge transfer.
• Triaging infrastructure alerts and incidents.
• Supporting Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Maintaining technical documentation and operational runbooks.
