Job summary

Aptean in Leicester, UK is seeking an Associate Field Services Technician to join our hands-on IT team. The role focuses on preparing hardware for new hires, handling break/fix issues, and ensuring staff have the equipment and access needed from day one.

You will support remote users and coordinate with the EU team on equipment shipping, with opportunities to contribute to acquisition integration projects as the business grows.

Qualifications

• PC hardware setup and configuration.
• Strong diagnostic and analytical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with technical documentation.
• Proficiency in supporting enterprise desktop applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and configure new hardware (laptops/PCs) for incoming staff members.
• Manage the physical onboarding process, including shipping equipment to new hires.
• Provide break/fix support, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
• Assist in coordinating and executing equipment replacements to minimize downtime.
• Contribute to acquisition integration tasks as required by the wider EU team.
• Build and maintain a shared knowledge base for common problem resolutions.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for desktop and enterprise applications (printing, email, network connectivity, and remote access).
• Apply technical standards and document processes to ensure high‑quality service.
• Manage assigned project tasks by prioritizing and tracking deliverables.
• Travel as required to support team needs.
