Job summary

Apogee Corporation, a UK-based managed workplace services provider, is seeking an IT Field Technician for its Managed Desktop Services team. The role involves diagnosing hardware and software faults on laptops/desktops, installing OSes, and providing onsite and remote support to keep customer systems running smoothly.

You will split time between on-site visits and remote help, delivering clear guidance and maintaining service quality.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in laptop or PC hardware repair or IT support.
• Strong understanding of hardware, software and operating systems (Windows experience essential, macOS or Linux beneficial)
• Experience using diagnostic tools and fault-finding techniques
• Confident troubleshooting skills across hardware and basic networking issues
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
• Full, clean driving licence

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software faults across laptops, desktops, and peripheral devices
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems including Windows and other common platforms
• Supporting users onsite and remotely, providing clear and practical guidance
• Carrying out repairs, component replacements, and system upgrades
• Troubleshooting printers, connectivity issues, and RPOS hardware
• Completing accurate job records, service notes, and repair documentation
• Following data protection, backup, and security procedures
• Escalating more complex issues when required
• Maintaining high standards of customer service and communication
• Keeping up to date with hardware tools, technologies, and repair methods
