Job summary

Cummins Turbo Technologies in Darlington is offering an IT Apprentice role within the Darlington IT department. You will support IT projects, deploy equipment, provide first-line IT support, and help improve service delivery on a large manufacturing campus.

This Level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship combines learning and hands-on work, with a potential permanent role on completion through open vacancies.

Qualifications

• GCSEs including Maths, English and Science at Grade 7 or above
• A Levels at grade C or above in IT or Computer Science desirable
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and digital tools, with an interest in hardware, software, troubleshooting, customer support, data and emerging technologies such as AI
• Good communication skills, attention to detail and ability to work safely and responsibly both independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Supporting small-scale IT projects from gathering requirements, process flow mapping and data collection through to testing, implementation and user adoption
• Deploying IT equipment including hardware configuration and troubleshooting across office, warehouse and shop floor environments
• Providing first-line IT support to business users through face-to-face and remote support activities
• Driving process improvements to streamline business processes and service delivery
• Gaining hands-on experience with enterprise and manufacturing systems supporting real-time operations and ICT security
