Job summary

Cummins Turbo Technologies is offering an Engineering Apprentice role in Peterborough. You will work across engineering departments, learn from mentors, and contribute to alternator design while studying at Peterborough College.

The apprenticeship lasts 3 years and 6 months, leading to a Level 3 Engineering Design Technician qualification. You will develop skills in design, testing, and customer‑facing support, with a view to potential permanent employment.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths 7+ and Science 5+ plus three other GCSEs 4+ or above.
• Interest in engineering from school projects, activities, hobby or work.
• Collaborative, curious, detail‑oriented and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Learn from a range of engineering departments and contribute ideas that help shape alternator design.
• Work with design teams to create efficient, reliable engineering solutions.
• Build confidence by managing tasks across teams with mentor support.
• Support customers by helping configure and size products to meet their needs.
• Participate in testing to ensure products meet international codes and standards.
