Job summary

Shaw Trust is seeking an IPS Service Manager to lead the day-to-day delivery and overall performance of the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) service across Birmingham and Solihull. You will oversee Team Leaders, drive fidelity with the IPS manual, and build strong partnerships with NHS and employment partners.

The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on management, including supervision, contract performance, and ensuring high-quality participant outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and managing IPS services.
• Strong understanding of the IPS model and Fidelity Scale.
• Knowledge of evidence-based supported employment practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the IPS service, providing strategic and operational leadership across the programme.
• Manage and support IPS Team Leaders to ensure high-quality service delivery, staff wellbeing and positive participant outcomes.
• Take responsibility for contract performance, KPIs, quality standards, participant outcomes and financial performance.
• Ensure delivery aligns with the IPS model, Fidelity Scale and Fidelity Manual, embedding evidence-based practice throughout the service.
• Lead participation in IPS Fidelity Reviews and oversee implementation of quality improvement plans.
• Monitor operational performance, compliance, safeguarding, information governance and risk management.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with NHS teams, commissioners, local authorities and referral partners.
• Ensure IPS services are fully integrated within clinical pathways to maximise referrals, engagement and employment outcomes.
• Promote service growth through partnership working, referral pathways and employer engagement strategies.
• Use performance data, quality assurance activity and participant feedback to drive continuous improvement and service excellence.
• Champion participant involvement, co-production and innovation across the service
