Turn this role into an interview — a resume and cover letter built around what this employer wants.
Shaw Trust is seeking an IPS Employment Specialist based in Birmingham to empower people with health support needs to obtain meaningful, sustainable work. You’ll work with participants, health professionals and employers to deliver a person-centred IPS service, building confidence and removing barriers.
You’ll manage your own caseload and work towards targets for starts, outcomes and job retention, while embodying Shaw Trust’s values. Training will be provided to deliver the IPS approach.
\"Shaw Trust promotes team spirit, inclusiveness and it is an organisation where everybody is somebody. I am proud to be part of this great organisation.\"
At Shaw Trust we believe everyone has the right to live a decent and dignified life and an opportunity for rewarding work. We are a social purpose organisation challenging inequality and breaking down barriers to enable social mobility.
For us being part of the solution is about creating the conditions for this to happen, advocating and delivering services that make a real difference. Working in partnership not competition, we are part of an eco-system of purpose-led organisations, striving for a fairer, more equal society centred on opportunity for all.
As an IPS Employment Specialist, you'll empower people with health support needs to find meaningful, sustainable work that matches their ambitions, strengths and individual circumstances. Every day, you'll help people build confidence, overcome barriers and take positive steps towards greater independence, social inclusion and wellbeing.
Working closely with participants, health professionals, service providers and local employers, you'll provide personalised support throughout an individual's employment journey. From understanding their goals and creating action plans, to securing the right role and providing ongoing in-work support, you'll be there every step of the way.
You'll use the nationally recognised Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach, receiving full training to help you deliver a high-quality, person-centred service. Building strong relationships with employers will be a key part of the role, creating opportunities that lead to successful and lasting employment outcomes.
This is a varied, rewarding and field-based role where no two days are the same. One day you might be meeting a participant to explore their career aspirations, the next you're working with a local employer to open doors to new opportunities.
You'll manage your own caseload and work towards key performance targets, including programme starts, job outcomes, job retention and IPS fidelity standards, while demonstrating Shaw Trust's values and behaviours in everything you do.
We're looking for someone who is a natural relationship-builder, an excellent communicator and genuinely motivated by helping others succeed. If you're passionate about making a real difference and helping people achieve their employment goals, we'd love to hear from you.
