Job summary

Rethink Mental Illness in Coventry is seeking an IPS Employment Specialist to support clients with mental health challenges in securing and sustaining paid employment across Coventry and Warwickshire. You will manage a caseload, deliver IPS, and build strong relationships with local employers.

You will work within a community mental health team, applying recovery-focused employment support and collaborating with clinicians to promote meaningful work opportunities.

Qualifications

• Basic IPS understanding gained through experience or self-conducted research.
• Experience in recruitment or employment guidance.
• Ability to engage with employers and build close, trusting relationships.
• Good understanding of the local area and its employers.
• Strong IT skills with the competency to use a range of complex systems and software.
• Good understanding of the principles and practice of supported employment.
• Experience of working in supported employment services is desirable.
• Good time management, diary organisation, be adaptable/flexible as no two days are the same.
• Experience of working with people with mental health problems or a similar service user group is desirable.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of around 20 clients with mental health support needs.
• Deliver the IPS approach with training provided.
• Meet and support clients to identify skills, goals and produce an Action Plan for employment.
• Assess work-related support needs and provide guidance.
• Attend weekly clinical team meetings as an embedded IPS practitioner.
• Source job opportunities through tailored job search and employer engagement.
• Provide education to employers on adjustments and return-to-work strategies.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to promote employment as a recovery intervention.
• Provide in-work support and regular visits to sustain employment.
