Job summary

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust is recruiting an Employment Specialist (Band 5) to support people in secondary mental health services to secure and sustain employment using the IPS model. You will work within Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams, build relationships with employers and provide tailored, recovery‑focused support.

You will receive comprehensive IPS training, ongoing development and work in a multidisciplinary environment aimed at improving health outcomes through meaningful work.

Qualifications

• Experience of helping people achieve goals and overcome barriers.
• Direct work with individuals one-to-one, offering encouragement and practical support.
• Understanding of mental health, recovery-focused practice or employment support is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of clients seeking or retaining employment.
• Deliver IPS-based employment support and fidelity to the model.
• Build trusting relationships to understand client employment goals and support needs.
• Identify suitable job opportunities based on preferences, skills and goals.
• Develop personalised employment action plans for paid employment.
• Provide CV, job application, interview preparation and job search support.
• Support health and wellbeing in work to sustain employment and progression.
• Collaborate with Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams to integrate employment support into care planning.
• Develop relationships with local employers and promote inclusive recruitment.
