Job summary

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals is seeking an Inventory Management Assistant to support stock replenishment, deliveries, and regular stock takes across wards and departments. You will work with clinical staff to maintain accurate stock levels and support the procurement team in ensuring efficient stock management.

The role requires GCSEs or equivalent and a willingness to pursue a purchasing or supplies qualification.

Qualifications

• GCSEs or equivalent with original certificates presented on appointment.
• Purchasing and supplies qualification, or willingness to work towards one.
• Experience with ordering systems such as Genesis, SBS Oracle or NHSSC, or equivalent.
• Experience of setting order levels and procurement experience.
• Previous inventory management experience.

Responsibilities

• Replenishing stock in wards and departments across the Trust.
• Receipting deliveries and maintaining stock levels at all times.
• Finding replacement stock when items run out.
• Agreeing stock levels with ward managers and sisters.
• Liaising with the Category team on stock and outages.
• Negotiating delivery dates with suppliers.
• Running regular stock takes and loading stock onto shelves.
• Covering team members during holiday or sickness.
• Supporting the Team Leader and Manager in delivering the stock management service.
