Job summary

Gill Cooke Personnel Ltd T/A The Recruitment Group is seeking an Internal Sales Executive for a leading supplier to the construction and building materials sector. The role is ideal for someone commercially minded, customer-focused and eager to develop a career in sales.

You will manage existing customer accounts, identify new business opportunities, build relationships by phone and face-to-face, process orders on the CRM, and prepare quotations to maximise sales.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales or customer service roles is essential.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills are required.
• Numeracy and IT skills to manage orders and quotations.

We are recruiting for an Internal Sales Executive to join a leading supplier to the construction and building materials sector.

You will play an important role in managing existing customer accounts, developing new business and delivering an excellent level of customer service.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing existing customer accounts to maximise sales and profitability.
• Identifying and developing new business opportunities and opening new accounts.
• Building strong customer relationships through telephone and face-to-face contact.
• Processing customer orders accurately using the CRM system.
• Preparing quotations and identifying opportunities for additional sales.
• Proactively contacting lapsed customers and potential new customers.
• Promoting the full range of products and services across the group.
• Working closely with warehouse and external sales teams to ensure orders are fulfilled efficiently.
• Supporting credit control and other internal departments when required.
• Providing support on the trade counter when needed.

We're looking for someone who is proactive, commercially minded and customer-focused, with a genuine desire to achieve sales targets and build lasting relationships.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience in a sales based or customer service role.
• Experience within construction, building materials or a related distribution environment would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
• Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
• Good numeracy and IT skills.
• A proactive and target-driven approach.
• The confidence to identify sales opportunities and generate new business.
