Job summary

Orion Electrotech in Cheltenham is seeking an Internal Sales Executive to support customers, prepare quotations, and manage orders from enquiry to delivery. You will coordinate with suppliers, warehouses, and external sales colleagues to drive growth and deliver exceptional service.

The role offers hands-on project coordination, strong relationship building, and opportunities to identify new sales opportunities while maintaining credit control and accurate records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months' experience in internal sales, sales support, or customer service.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience generating quotations and managing orders.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel; ERP/NetSuite experience preferred.

We're looking for an enthusiastic Internal Sales Executive to join a thriving and growing team in Cheltenham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with internal sales experience who wants to play a key role in supporting customers, managing quotations, and delivering exceptional service from enquiry through to completion.

Working closely with customers, suppliers, warehouses, and external sales colleagues, you'll become a vital part of the branch's continued success and growth.

The Opportunity

This is far more than a traditional sales administration role.

You'll be responsible for managing customer enquiries, producing quotations, coordinating orders, and overseeing projects through to delivery. You'll have the opportunity to build lasting customer relationships, identify new sales opportunities, and make a genuine commercial impact on the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
• Generate accurate, competitive, and commercially effective quotations
• Identify customer requirements and provide exceptional sales support throughout the buying journey
• Manage customer orders from receipt through to successful delivery
• Coordinate with suppliers, warehouse teams, and customers to ensure deadlines are achieved
• Monitor and manage live projects using company systems
• Work closely with external sales colleagues to develop and convert new business opportunities
• Liaise with branch and warehouse teams regarding stock availability and lead times
• Manage customer accounts in line with agreed credit limits and company procedures
• Deliver proactive communication and updates throughout the sales process
• Support continuous improvements across customer service and sales operations
• Assist with reporting, administrative tasks, and wider team activities as required

What We're Looking For

• A minimum of 12 months' experience in an Internal Sales, Sales Support, Sales Executive, Account Management, or Customer Service role
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Confidence communicating with customers and suppliers over the phone and via email
• A positive, proactive, and customer-focused attitude
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
• Experience using ERP systems, with NetSuite experience being advantageous
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
• A genuine desire to learn, develop, and grow within a successful business

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience within the construction, building materials, electrical, industrial, manufacturing, or distribution sectors
• Experience managing project-based sales orders
• Understanding of stock management, supply chains, and product availability
