Job summary

Arch Steel, part of ArcelorMittal Building Solutions, is seeking an Internal Sales Estimator in Trafford Park to handle incoming enquiries, interpret drawings and determine material needs. You will work in a busy manufacturing environment, delivering precise quotations and contributing to excellent customer service.

Ideal candidates will have practical experience in sheet metal fabrication, a solid grasp of manufacturing processes and the ability to read technical drawings.

Qualifications

• Experience in sheet metal manufacturing or fabrication is required.
• Ability to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings.
• Experience with estimating, costing, or quoting is advantageous.
• Industry experience in roofing/cladding is preferred.
• Technically minded, well-organised and detail‑driven.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming customer enquiries and provide quotes.

Internal Sales Estimator

Location: Trafford Park

Salary: circa £38-40k + bonus (negotiable - depending on experience)

Arch Steel, part of ArcelorMittal Building Solutions, is an established steel manufacturing business supplying high-quality products to customers across the UK. Operating within a busy, fast-paced manufacturing environment, the business prides itself on delivering excellent customer service alongside quality, reliability and efficiency. They are now looking to recruit a technically minded and confident Internal Sales Estimator to join the team.

This is not a traditional outbound sales role - you'll primarily respond to incoming customer enquiries, interpret drawings and requirements, calculate materials and manufacturing needs, and prepare and send accurate quotations. You'll also liaise closely with supply chain and production to ensure material requirements and relevant information are communicated effectively, with occasional contact with existing customers during quieter periods.

To be shortlisted, you will need practical experience within a sheet metal manufacturing/fabrication environment, together with a good understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to read and interpret technical or engineering drawings. Previous estimating, costing, quoting, CNC or CAD experience would be advantageous but isn't essential and our client is keen to hear from people with experience in the roofing / cladding industry. Most importantly, you'll be technically minded, highly organised and methodical, confident with numbers and measurements, with strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
