Job summary

Arch Steel, part of ArcelorMittal Building Solutions, seeks an Internal Sales Estimator to join the team in Trafford Park. This role is not a traditional outbound sales position; you will primarily respond to incoming customer enquiries, interpret drawings and requirements, calculate materials and manufacturing needs, and prepare accurate quotations.

You will liaise with supply chain and production to ensure material requirements are communicated, with occasional customer contact.

Qualifications

• Experience in sheet metal manufacturing/fabrication environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Estimating/quoting experience advantageous but not essential (CAD related).

Responsibilities

Arch Steel, part of ArcelorMittal Building Solutions, is an established steel manufacturing business supplying high-quality products to customers across the UK. Operating within a busy, fast-paced manufacturing environment, the business prides itself on delivering excellent customer service alongside quality, reliability and efficiency. They are now looking to recruit a technically minded and confident Internal Sales Estimator to join the team.

This is not a traditional outbound sales role you ll primarily respond to incoming customer enquiries, interpret drawings and requirements, calculate materials and manufacturing needs, and prepare and send accurate quotations. You ll also liaise closely with supply chain and production to ensure material requirements and relevant information are communicated effectively, with occasional contact with existing customers during quieter periods.

To be shortlisted, you will need practical experience within a sheet metal manufacturing/fabrication environment, together with a good understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to read and interpret technical or engineering drawings. Previous estimating, costing, quoting, CNC or CAD experience would be advantageous but isn t essential and our client is keen to hear from people with experience in the roofing / cladding industry. Most importantly, you ll be technically minded, highly organised and methodical, confident with numbers and measurements, with strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
