Job summary

Aldwych Consulting in London is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to contribute to mechanical building services projects. You will design HVAC systems, run calculations and collaborate with architectural and electrical teams to deliver projects from concept to completion.

You’ll gain hands-on experience across a varied project portfolio with mentoring and clear progression paths, while enjoying hybrid working and ongoing training opportunities.

Qualifications

• For intermediate role, degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience designing HVAC and mechanical systems in building services.
• Familiar with Revit, AutoCAD and common industry design packages.

Responsibilities

• Produce mechanical designs for building projects.
• Carry out calculations and prepare technical reports.
• Coordinate with electrical engineers, architects and other consultants.
• Attend design meetings and site visits as needed.

Intermediate Mechanical Engineer

Location: London (Hybrid)

We're working with a well-established engineering consultancy that has built a strong reputation for delivering practical, sustainable building services solutions across a broad range of sectors. Due to continued project wins and steady growth, they're looking to appoint an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join their expanding team.

The Role

You’ll work alongside experienced engineers on the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects from initial concept through to completion.

• Producing mechanical designs for a variety of building projects.
• Carrying out engineering calculations and preparing technical reports.
• Coordinating with electrical engineers, architects and other consultants.
• Attending design meetings and occasional site visits.
• Supporting projects through all stages of design and construction.
• Developing your technical knowledge while taking increasing ownership of your own work.

About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

• A degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
• Experience designing HVAC and mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with software such as Revit, AutoCAD and industry design packages.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• The ambition to continue developing professionally, with support towards Chartership if desired.
