Aldwych Consulting is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead building-services design in London, delivering from concept to completion within a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

You will own mechanical designs for buildings, coordinate with electrical and public health disciplines, and engage with clients to ensure high-quality, sustainable and commercially viable solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
• Proven experience designing mechanical systems for buildings.

A growing and established building-services engineering consultancy is looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its London team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanical engineer who wants to take real ownership of projects, work directly with clients and play an important role within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment. The business delivers engineering solutions across a broad range of building projects, with a strong focus on quality, practical design, sustainability and long-term client relationships.

The Role

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering mechanical building-services designs from concept through to completion.

You will:

• Lead mechanical design packages across a variety of projects.
• Develop HVAC, heating, ventilation and associated mechanical systems.
• Produce calculations, specifications, drawings and technical reports.
• Coordinate designs with electrical, public health and other disciplines.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong experience within a UK building-services consultancy.
• A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Proven experience designing mechanical systems for buildings.
• Good knowledge of UK regulations, standards and industry guidance.
• Experience delivering projects through multiple design stages.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
• The ability to manage your own workload and take responsibility for project delivery.
• A proactive and commercially aware approach.
• Experience supporting or mentoring junior engineers
