Beeby Anderson Recruitment is assisting a well-established MEP Building Services consultancy to recruit an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer. You will drive design concepts from concept to completion, collaborating with senior engineers and clients on technically demanding projects.

Responsibilities include developing concepts, producing briefs, site surveys, energy assessments and cross-discipline coordination while ensuring compliance with British Standards and Building Regulations.

Qualifications

• Degree or professional equivalent in Mechanical/Building Services Engineering.
• Experience in mechanical building services design within a consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of British Standards and Building Regulations.
• Proficiency with Hevacomp, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

Responsabilités

• Develop mechanical design concepts and detailed design solutions.
• Produce and review design briefs based on client requirements.
• Carry out site surveys and prepare detailed reports.
• Conduct energy assessments and evaluate system performance.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and assist in CAD drawings.
• Manage workload to meet project deadlines.
• Exercise independent technical judgement with limited supervision.

The Client:

Our client is a well-established and award-winning MEP Building Services consultancy seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team of 15 engineers.

The Role:

As an Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take ownership of mechanical building services design from concept through to completion. You will work closely with senior engineers and directly with clients, contributing to technically challenging and rewarding projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing mechanical design concepts and detailed design solutions


• Producing and reviewing design briefs based on client or senior engineer requirements


• Taking responsibility for technical and financial decisions on assigned projects


• Undertaking site surveys and preparing detailed mechanical condition and compliance reports


• Ensuring compliance with British Standards, Building Regulations and Codes of Practice


• Carrying out energy assessments and evaluating system performance


• Coordinating with other disciplines and understanding cross-discipline design parameters


• Assisting in the preparation of drawings using CAD


• Managing workload effectively to meet programme deadlines


• Exercising independent technical judgement with limited supervision

About You:

We’re looking for a motivated and technically capable engineer who is ready to take the next step in their career. You will have:

• A Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (HNC/HND with strong design experience will also be considered)


• Experience in mechanical building services design within a consultancy environment


• Good knowledge of British Standards and Building Regulations
